CLU has a beautiful campus, with native landscaping that is labeled to identify the species. we enjoy taking long walks around and through the campus.
There's a walking bridge the crosses over Olsen Road so students and faculty do not have to travel longer distances than necessary, and it also connects the northern portion of the campus to the southern. They have several new buildings, including a state-of-the-art cafeteria, gymnasium with weight room, and a museum.
In the summer months, prior to the pandemic, the Kinsmen Company hosts Shakespearean plays in the campus park, complete with a full stage and professional actors. Patrons can take a picnic dinner and purchase wine and beer before the play or during intermissions. Seats are on the grass, on blankets or on low-backed lawn chairs
The Los Angeles Rams also train on the northern part of the CLU campus in a cordoned-off section that houses their training facility.
I encourage a trip to visit the CLU campus if you're in the area.
High School and not so large that you feel like you're just another number. It's a cozy campus where everyone feels more like a community than an institution. The atmosphere is more about the student getting as much education and experience from the campus than just passing or getting a grade. It's not competitive, it's more cooperative where others help each other to succeed. I really did love going to school here and the resources and experience I gained are true treasures. The professors here are wonderful and the art community in this campus is wonderful.
Graduated from the Professionals program in 2017. Literally opened up doors i didn't know where closed to me without the degree. My son and I went to scooter around during the pandemic so he could enjoy the outside. Such a beautiful campus.
Absolutely hated my time at CLU. It’s cliquey, racist, homophobic, and did nothing to minimize the hate people would demonstrate especially when Trump was elected. I’ll never forget someone in the Mount Clef lobby had a “build the wall” pin and no one did anything about it.
If you want to go to school with a bunch of entitled, spoiled, dramatic private school kids then go to CLU.
All this school does is obtain as much as possible but does absolutely nothing to protect BIPOC students. They’ll take a million dollar grant for Hispanic students and accepts more of them but does absolutely nothing to protect them. Despicable and cruel behavior.
Attended the 45th Annual Scandinavian Festival at Cal Lutheran today. It was a lovely celebration with food, music, games and crafts for the kids, as well as artisans and genealogy resources to help provide a closer look into the various Scandinavian cultures.
I had a very disrespectful experience with this University. I do not recommend it to anybody. I applied for a graduate program and paid the fees, uploaded all the documents, attended a zoom orientation, and everything was okay until they informed me that I was not chosen. When I contacted the admission they said they don't have an idea about the decision and provided me with the director who is always out of her office. I emailed her but no answer I called twice and left to voicemails but she didn't call back.
Excellent private university. I got my teaching credential here and met my wife in my teacher prep program. My cohort for the teacher prep program was amazing and she and I made friends for life here! Dr. Mike McCambridge (Education Dept. Chair) is the nicest man on the planet!! My wife and I loved him so much that he ended up officiating our wedding!!
Cal Lutheran University is a very nice campus, we go walking there regularly. Love the adirondak chairs everywhere under the giant trees and the open spaces. Its clean and everyone is friendly.
